Dolomites in winter

The Dolomites are a thrilling place to be in winter! The silence of the peaks, the white of the snow, the fabulous landscape and the hamlets steeped in history make this the ideal place to recharge your batteries.

The area around Hotel Stella Alpina offers endless opportunities for winter sports lovers: snow-covered ski and snowboard runs, perfect cross-country ski trails, and plenty of fun with skates, sledges and “ciaspe”, the snow-shoes for trips through the woods.

For those who prefer a more relaxing stay in breath-taking scenery, Falcade offers the chance to leave everyday stress behind and enjoy trekking and walking routes in the beautiful natural setting of the Dolomites, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The Dolomiti SuperSki area is heaven on earth for downhill skiing fans.
The most spectacular ski carousel in the Dolomites comprises 1200 kilometres of runs with perfect snow cover, bringing together 12 ski stations with innovative, modern lift facilities.

Just minutes from the Hotel, guests will find the San Pellegrino Alpe-Lusia ski area, offering 100 kilometres of runs across the valleys it is made up of: Val di FassaSan Pellegrino PassBiois Valley, straddling the provinces of Trento and Belluno.

The Skitour delle Emozioni (Emotions SkiTour) is perfect for those looking to spend a relaxing day on easy slopes, with the chance to stop off in the mountain refuges and enjoy some tasty local specialities, while the kids can have fun with the miniclub activities.

The Falcade ski area is also very popular for its cross-country ski runs, just a few metres from the hotel, which wind their way through delightful woodland, often running alongside the Biois torrent. Beside the Pietro Scola run there is also a ski school where you can learn the basics of cross-country. Thanks to the constant snow (natural or artificial when required) and lighting after dark, the equipped 8-kilometre-long circuit can be used at any time, with the possibility to hire equipment, as well as services such as showers and changing rooms.

The Alochet Cross-Country Skiing Centre, on the San Pellegrino Pass, offers a challenging route of 2500 metres, while the Val Gares Cross-Country Skiing Centre, in Canale d’Agordo, the birthplace of Pope John Paul I, Albino Luciani, offers 5 circuits of varying difficulty.
